He has been involved in terrestrial and underwater archaeological projects in Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and Jordan since 2009. He worked at the Archaeology Unit at ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute as a Senior Research Officer from 2014 to 2023. While at the Archaeology Unit, he worked on multiple archaeological fieldwork projects in various capacities. Apart from participating in fieldwork and post-excavation work, Michael organised archaeology outreach programmes for educational institutions in Singapore. His research interests include Southeast Asian archaeology and history, particularly maritime and coastal archaeology, military history and archaeology, public archaeology, trade ceramics, and mollusc ecofacts.---Please note that this is a paid programme.
