Great ala carte dinner spread and finger foods available at the Cafe, reasonably priced, but not included in the cover charge. Try to take public transport to the event to keep our carbon footprint down.

Gaia Discovery is a sustainability consultancy and publication on eco-living & travel. Its sister organisation Gaia Grooves promotes environmental awareness through music. We love Gaia and we know you do too, so let’s get together to sing and drink to her!

Proceeds from the event go towards funding environmental awareness and bursary programs to fight pollution, restore health, conserve biodiversity and save lives. Exclusive hand painted T Shirts and tote bags by environmentalist Anuar Abdullah along with handwoven baskets by tribal women in the Philippines will be displayed for your purchase as well. Richard Jackson, from Ohio and now resident jazz vocalist in Singapore. Richard has worked in the company of Chris Jasper Isley, Midnight Star, and has performed as the opening act for Bob James, Peabo Bryson, The Stylistics, Tuck and Patti, Regina Belle, De La Soul, George Clinton & Will Downing.

Christy Smith, bassist, double bassist, composer, singer and teacher from Ohio based in Singapore. He has performed with Stevie Wonder, Fela Kuti, Eldee Young, Sarah Vaughn and many other illustrious artistes.

Wei Xiang, lawyer turned jazz pianist, resided in New York and now based in Singapore. He has played with mainstream jazz artistes like James Morrison, Stanley Jordan, Dave Samuels as well as world music giants like Shakti ganjira player V Selvaganesh and Shakuhachi Kaizan John Neptune.

Eddie Layman, drummer from New York, now based in Singapore. He has performed with artistes such as Junior Cook, Karl Denson ,Lou Donaldson, Louis Pragasam, Max Bennett, O'Donell Levy, Paul Quinesette, Roy Eldridge,Ralph Lalama, Ralph Moore, Ray Kennedy, Richard `Groove' Holmes, Rob Mullins, Ron Eschete ,Spiro Gyra, Steve Bailey, Steve Grossman, Tal Farlow, Tarumasa Hino, Todd Coleman, Tom Kennedy, Tommy Turrentine, Vanessa Rubin.

RECORDED WITH: Billy Williams, David Sanborn, Groove Holmes, Kenny Barron, Rufus Reed, Tom Kennedy, Ray Kennedy, Claressa Monteiro, Marina Xavier, Mei Sheum.

Residing in Singapore, Eddie Layman performs regularly in a Jazz Quartet on Fridays from 10:30 pm and the Organ Trio, Saturdays from 10:30 pm. Venue: B28, Scarlet Hotel.

Keys Abraham, from Sabah, fronted a jazz and funk band formed by Lewis Pragasam at Hakka Republik in Kuala Lumpur weekly. He now performs regular gigs at Shamrock Bar in Kota Kinabalu, among others. He has participated in a number of jazz shows and festivals. Amazing voice with a wide repertoire. Check out his single Talk To Me.
