Science Tuesday, Hannes Raebiger: “Modern Alchemy, or, Materials Design for 23rd Century Quantum Technologies” Date and time: April 2nd 2024 at 6 PM Platform: Zoom Tickets available: Until April 2nd 2024 at 9 AM Hannes Raebiger:I’m a physics professor at the Yokohama National University (YNU). I studied in Finland at the Helsinki University of Technology (nowadays Aalto University), and after defending my doctoral thesis in 2006 worked as a post-doctoral scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado from 2006 to 2008. After that I became a faculty member at the YNU Department of Physics, got tenured as associate professor in 2013, and was promoted as a Professor in 2024. Since 2008 I have been heading the Solid State and Molecular Theory group at YNU, designing new materials with quantum functionalities based on quantum chemical calculations.
