Like how these words are nested within each other, Longing and Belonging hopes to make space for different ways of looking at the conflicting yet intertwined desires for home, building a new life, and being rooted in a community.MWPF’s third edition received more than a hundred submissions across two categories: Single Image and Series (3-5 images). The exhibition will feature the following finalists’ works, selected by judges Huda Azzis (Founder, Your Local Newsstand) and Chelsea Chua (Programme Director, Objectifs):Indah W. Through its associate programmes — workshops, photowalks, Community Diary — the festival hopes to build a diverse community that transcends nationalities, and help bridge the current social divide between the migrant and local community. The team behind the festival similarly reflects this ethos: MWPF comprises both locals and migrants from many different countries, who co-organise this initiative in the spirit of friendship, equality, and community.Presented by the Migrant Workers Photography Festival (MWPF), and supported by Objectifs and FotoHub.
