Conceived by Malaysian visual artist and flutist, Lawrence Chiu, audiences can expect to be taken on a journey through universal human emotions such as love, loss, hope, and resilience during the 1.5 hours of this unique musical event.Lawrence who composed the original score for the show told us what inspired him to embark on this project, "The first part of the show, was birthed out of sheer boredom during the pandemic lockdown and a search for some distraction to take my mind off things. That's why you will find that some of this first piece is rather meditative. The other pieces were inspired by stories I had heard from other artists as well as my own experience. I thought why not make a concert to share and connect with others who may have gone through similar experiences". Once the venue had been confirmed, Lawrence recruited flutist peers from the industry to complete his musical line-up, as well as dancer Erica Liew Xin Rui and Singaporean photographer, Syahmi Hashim.Music Programme§ contained‘contained’ consists of 6 movements. It is a bit about being stuck in our heads. Some of us struggle within ourselves while trying to make it through everyday life. Sometimes we are contained within our minds. It can take a lot of effort and work to process our thoughts and emotions. The healing process is at times confusing and excruciating.
