Your tired ass clothes are about to get a shot of WTF?!Becca D'Bus will lead you in a workshop to liberate yourself! — From old clothes, from design, from the tyranny of craftsmanship!Move from being pleased with what you've chosen to wear, to being proud of what you've made.Led by intuition, we will make totally new, as yet wholly undefined, garments out of used clothing. With a few basic, easy to understand principles and simple techniques, you will make clothes that you will commit to being proud of. Never thought you would wear something you made? GREAT! You’re walking out of the class wearing your new creations!This workshop is a development of an earlier version offered at The Substations School of Uncommon Knowledge.Participants should leave the workshop with one completed new garment and at least the beginnings of a second.IMPORTANT notes:WEARSeparates that:1. You are comfortable bending and sitting on the floor in2. That are NOT valuable to you, you will likely give them up.3. Make sure that you are wearing underlayers that you do not mind being seen in by the group.BRING5 pieces of old, unwanted clothing that are in wearable condition (undamaged, laundered, pressed if need be) and that don't match each other.If you have any sewing supplies, bring them along, it's always nice to work with stuff you know.Do not bring tape measures or rulers, you will have no use for them.Please note, venue is on the second floor accessible by stairs only.Please wear footwear that is easy to remove, Singlit Station is a shoes - off space.PLUSIf you've never used a sewing machine before, and want to learn how, there's an optional 2 hr pre-workshop earlier at 11am where you will learn the basics on how a sewing machine works and how to use one, setting you up to take fuller advantage of the main workshop.
