DeSci Tokyo Meetup #3 with DeSci Labs @KERNEL HONGO 【Event Summary (イベント趣旨)】A new trend of utilizing blockchain technology for solving scientific challenges has emerged, known as Decentralized Science (DeSci), which opens up new possibilities.As one sector of Decentralized Science, the construction of decentralized infrastructure, such as the use of NFTs to facilitate the circulation of data, intellectual property rights, and research equipment, and the building of foundational elements like decentralized IDs and evaluation methods, is progressing.Over the past 10 years, issues such as the increased costs of academic publishing, rising research costs per article, and a crisis of reproducibility have come to light in the field of academic publishing.
