Come explore Singapore's oldest reservoir with us...named for James MacRitchie, one of our pioneering Municipal Engineers, who was also responsible for Lau Pa Sat market, Coleman Bridge and much more; see the plaque below.These days it's a haven of peace, and abode to many of our furry friends - think monkeys! - and our specialist nature guide will point out flora & fauna to us throughout our walk.Starting at the Windsor Nature Park Visitor Centre (Windsor Park is a new green buffer zone for the Central Catchment Nature Reserve), we'll walk to the site of an old kampong, and then parallel to the road leading to the SICC golf club. Once past SICC, the walk will lead us into the secondary forest and then to an NParks Ranger Station.From there, it is another 10 minutes to the start of the Tree-top Walk, a free-standing 250-metre suspension bridge that connects the park's two highest points (Bukit Pierce and Bukit Kalang) for a bird's eye view of the plants and animals that thrive in the forest canopy. At its highest point, the bridge is 25 metres above the ground. Enjoy a look around from above instead of the usual ground-level. After the canopy walk we'll loop back and return to Windsor Nature Park. Expect about four hours in the forest, so good walking shoes are essential. The price is $60 per person.
