Mufti is also a member of the Singapore Bioethics Advisory Committee. He earned an M.A. in comparative law at SOAS University of London, an M.St. in religion at Oxford, and a D.Phil. from St. Cross College, Oxford. His first degree is in Islamic law from Al-Azhar University in Cairo.Ustazah Shameem SultanahUstazah Shameem was conferred a B.A. in Syari'ah Islamiyyah from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt and has a Diploma in Counselling Psychology from Lee Community College, Singapore and a Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Pondok Darussalam Gontor, East Java, Indonesia. He is currently a Youth Development Officer and Mosque Religious Officer at An-Nahdhah mosque. If he were to have free time, he would play basketball or work out with youth. He advocates a healthy lifestyle and believes in the simple pleasures of life.
