As the title suggests, this initiative aims to instil in our children a sense of altruism for others and a belief in the power of art to give back in meaningful ways.#ChildrenforChildren as a fundraising initiative will consist of a series of programmes, micro-events and an auction event that will help to raise funds for our sister charity, Curious Thoughts Giving.Event DescriptionAs part of Art Wonderland’s first fundraising initiative #ChildrenforChildren, My Own Mountain To Climb is an auction showcase that features the work of 90 over Art Wonderland students created over four weeks. The artworks are inspired by a story of Oliver the Owl, who struggles to catch worms and journeys through the forest to look for other animals for help. With every advice and suggestion Oliver encounters, he finds himself more lost and unable to catch worms like the rest of his family. He was eventually made to realise that all he needed was specialised help. Instead of digging for worms like Mr. Mouse or catching them with his tongue like Mr. Frog, All Oliver needed was a set of glasses that would help him see clearly the worms he desired to catch.Over the duration of the project, each child put themselves in the shoes of Oliver and reflected upon their own moments of struggle. The works presented in My Own Mountain To Climb express the stories within these moments,  and how they manage to get the help that they need to overcome their own challenges. The #ChildrenforChildren fundraising initiative aims to instil in our children a sense of altruism for others and a belief in the power of art to give back in meaningful ways.Dates and Times:⭐️ Opening Speech 10am - 11am⭐️ 9th September, 10am - 8.30pm⭐️ 10th September, 10am - 6pmProgramme DetailsStorytelling Performance (30mins)Sat 11am, 3pm, 6pmSun 11am, 1pm, 3pmJoin us for a storytelling performance by The Twisters where they take us on a journey to discover the adventures of Olivia the Owl!
