He has 19 years of experience as a science communicator, having interned at a daily technology TV news show and worked as a press officer at the University of British Columbia before joining AAAS. He led the design of UBC's media training program and trained more than 500 faculty and students through lectures, workshops and one-on-one coaching. At AAAS, in addition to recruiting news releases from diverse sources and expanding EurekAlert!'s reach to a global audience, he has written about science communication for Science magazine and AAAS News, and led science communication workshops in Japan and China.
