(FREE SEATING, ALL AGES) hilllcrest (the homecoming) is a show commemorating Lauren Ong's debut album "hillcrest". Cozy and intimate, the show will feature re-imagined arrangements of songs off the album, including singles "depth perception", "lake buena vista" and "dandelion wine". Bridging genres ranging from folk to classical in her music, she seeks to depict stories that words alone cannot convey. The synthesis of poetic lyrics and intricate arrangements create a distinctive voice, through which she hopes to help others feel understood. Trained as a classical harpist from the age of 6, she delved into various musical endeavours, seeking a musical identity within numerous facets ranging from school choirs to harp ensembles. Songwriting and music became an outlet, with her utilising it as a tool to process and understand emotions. In recent years, Lauren has made small dents in the local music scene, with her first Spotify single amassing over 500k streams to date. Participating in the Voices Music Mentorship programme, performing as a featured artist at Esplanade Concourse for “jupiterkid and friends” and playing an opening set at lewloh’s Planting Seeds Tour are some highlights thus far.
