We all know there has been crazy hype about blockchain and the cryptocurrencies that follow, almost every problem has been said to have a solution in blockchain. However, without applications in real life, what intrinsic value do we have for these coins? The Kuala Lumpur city chapter committee, along with our partners, DOJO KL and Nation Building School, has hand-picked blockchain industry players with great experience and insights on both the blockchain scene in Malaysia and abroad. You will learn the blockchain initiatives carried out locally, its use and applications, and the industries that are ripe for disruption by this foundational technology. By understanding the fundamentals better, we hope to help startups in Malaysia formulate better ideas and solutions. To cultivate a better discussion, we have assembled an insightful panel which includes: Mark Smalley – Mark is the co-founder and CEO of Neuroware, which helps organizations and individuals explore, adopt and implement distributed ledger technology. Having lived in Malaysia for the past 20 years, he is no stranger to the local tech scene. Robin Lee – Robin Lee is the Co-Founder and CEO of HelloGold, which is a Shariah-compliant gold investment app that is built on the Ethereum Blockchain. Robin is the former CFO of the World Gold Council where he was also the principal accounting officer for SPDR Gold Trust (‘GLD”), the world’s largest ETF, with US$24bn in assets under management.
