We invite you to participate in our upcoming BIMStorm event, "AI.AIA - Humans, Machines & Architects Unite," where we explore the powerful collaboration between architects, owners, occupants, society, and AI in the design, construction, and operation of facilities.Building on the success of our recent BIMStorm focused on Asset Management and ISO55000, this event highlights the importance of involving creative participants to ensure project success. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Tokyo, we'll dive into creating innovative, green, and energy-efficient designs that promote resilience and add value to the cityscape. What to expect:Engaging hands-on sessions with leading industry experts.Collaborative charrettes harnessing the power of AI for design optimization.Insightful discussions on sustainable design, energy efficiency, and urban resilience.Interactive demonstration showcasing the use of ChatGPT to generate program requirements and create BIMs using cloud-based BIM apps.Networking opportunities with forward-thinking professionals in the AEC industry. This BIMStorm event is a unique opportunity to be part of the future of architecture, engineering, and construction. Together, we can shape the built environment by leveraging the collective intelligence of humans, machines, and architects.Don't miss out on this exciting and transformative experience! Stay tuned for more information on registration, event schedule, and speakers.Share your excitement and join the conversation using the hashtag #BIMStormAIAIA on social media. We look forward to seeing you there!LEARNING OBJECTIVES:After attending this program, participants will be able to:Explore the role of AI in supporting architects, owners, and occupants in making informed decisions related to Health, Safety, and Welfare in building design and construction.Understand the principles of sustainable and resilient design in the context of urban environments, with a focus on energy efficiency, green practices, and occupant well-being.Examine the use of ChatGPT and cloud-based BIM applications in generating program requirements, optimizing designs, and evaluating HSW aspects throughout the design process.Identify opportunities for enhancing communication and collaboration between architects, stakeholders, and AI tools to improve project outcomes and contribute to safer, healthier, and more sustainable built environments.By participating in this 90-minute BIMStorm, attendees will gain valuable insights into the potential applications of AI in architecture and urban design, while addressing the critical HSW considerations that contribute to the well-being of occupants and the community.ABOUT KIMON ONUMA, FAIA:Born in Athens, Greece, and raised in Japan, Kimon Onuma has a rich international background that has shaped his innovative approach to "Build Informed Environments." Growing up, he worked with his father, Joseph Onuma, in his architectural firm in Tokyo, which was established in 1972. Later, Kimon founded his own office in Pasadena, CA, continuing his family's legacy in architecture and design.Kimon has made significant contributions to the industry through his creation of over 40 BIMStorms. These BIM charrettes have become known as the "Woodstock" for the building industry, with the most notable being the 24-hour BIMStorm LAX event in 2008. This groundbreaking collaboration brought together 133 design professionals and industry specialists from 11 countries to plan, design, and collaborate on 420 buildings, totaling over 55 million square feet. The event received a prestigious 2008 AIA TAP Award.Throughout his career, Kimon has shared his expertise by presenting at more than 400 industry events domestically and internationally, as well as authoring numerous industry journals. Among his publications is the influential 2006 AIA Report on Integrated Practice, titled "The 21st Century Practitioner."In recent years, Kimon has worked with various federal agencies through the National Institute of Building Sciences, including the Department of Defense Military Health System, Department of Veterans Affairs for healthcare strategic planning, programming and facility management, and the Department of State Overseas Building Operations. His unique approach emphasizes agile, lean, and implementable big ideas applicable to all stages of a facility's life-cycle.As a thought leader, Kimon has served as the Past Chair of the Thought Leadership Subcommittee of the buildingSMART Alliance and held the position of 2013 AIA TAP Chair. He is also an active member of the National Institute of Building Sciences BIM and Digital Twin Committee. Kimon is committed to providing clients with innovative design and processes that serve as a catalyst for the building industry, continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the field.ABOUT STEPHEN HAGAN, FAIA CCM:Stephen R Hagan FAIA CCM is recognized as an industry expert on technology | innovation , real estate,  and the construction  marketplace.  In August 2012, Stephen retired from the federal government after 37 years and is now consulting about BIM, Innovation and Online Technologies.   Steve is President | CEO of Hagan Technologies LLC in Reston, VA.
