Themed “WILD CHILD”, we inspire to empower children to realise their potential and remove the fear of those different from them by inviting  schools and families with children of different needs to mingle and play together through facilitated experience. Highlights include:A wide range of art, craft, music and dance workshops for the public designed to foster inclusion on 10 and 17 March 2018An inclusive arts camp from 12 to 14 March, 10am – 1pm daily, where 30 children spend three half-days working in teams with those of different abilities. They include:WILD Dance Island: A fairy-lit ‘stage’ where programmes will be held.Maze to Dinner: A tunnel of tents featuring stories by children from Kindle Garden, Singapore's first inclusive preschool, where children can colour.Obstacle Octopus: A play space in a sheltered area outdoors that children can crawl around a wheelchair-accessible wooden creature obstacle course.Village Square: On a grass square, children craft an item that signifies their role in our tribe.Opening Hours for Public:10, 17 March (Saturdays) 11am – 6pm : Free play + All day programmes12 – 16 March (Mon - Fri) 130pm – 430pm: Opened to public only from 130pm onwards as we are running a camp for selected participants from 10am – 1pm5 – 9 March: Closed to public, schools only. In Stone Soup, hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys. Then, get crafty and create your very own art work using vegetables! This session is organised by Words Go Round, an outreach programme of the Singapore Writers Festival, in conjunction with the Superhero Me Festival.10 MAR: WARRIOR CHEER BLOCK PRINTING Block printing workshop by Ooi Phaik Sim, Suitable for children age 6 – 12 years old.Date/Time: 10 Mar (Sat) 1pm - 3pmVenue: Enabling Village, Hall 1 & 2Cost: $15 (*Bag is provided), up to 20 paxPhaik Sim is an architect, a mother of two boys. She is passionate about the arts and aspires to leave creative imprints and spread positivity in children through block printing. In this exploratory print workshop, children come up with their favourite positivity word and carve it on a block of foam using sharp pencils and kid-friendly tools. They can also explore making alphabet reliefs on foam. The fun continues with the children applying paint over the blocks and hand printing their design on a bag*. In a tribe, the members are dependent on each other and on the land, and they have distinct characteristics that set them apart from others. In this workshop, we aim to build a group sense among the children through fun solo, pair and group dance exercises.This WILD workshop centres around the story of an island, where the islanders live. This day, the islanders are preparing to plant some new trees on their island. This workshop will feature her second children’s picture book ‘The Rain Tree’, a story that celebrates the beauty of nature and the bond between a mother and her child.
