We'll start off from Chinatown Heritage Centre (entrance fee included), where we'll step back in time and glimpse into the daily life of early Chinese residents through life-like exhibits. From Pagoda Street, we'll proceed to stroll through the heart of Chinatown, where you will hear the stories that lay hidden behind the veneer of restored and gentrified shop houses.You will also get to experience a typical wet market, sample traditional local Chinese delicacies, witness communal living in modern Chinatown, and soak in the feel of this enclave. We'll get to see a quieter side of Chinatown on Ann Siang Hill, where we'll take a relaxed walk through elegant, restored shop houses and enjoy the sophisticated interplay of shopping, dining, history and modernity displayed in an eclectic mix. We will also introduce you to the City Gallery in URA Centre, which tells the story of Singapore’s remarkable physical transformation through city planning, urban development and architecture.The tour ends here and you can sample some quintessentially local hawker dishes across the road from URA Centre at Maxwell Food Centre.Notes:* Ticket includes entrance fees for Chinatown Heritage Centre* Maximum of 10 participants* Minimum of 2 participants to go* Confirmation of tour and exact meeting location will be sent 1 day before tour via email
