By bringing to the table food stories from yours or your ancestors’ areas of origin, you will help map together the food landscape from the Indian subcontinent in Singapore over the last decade.This workshop is welcome to anyone with a connection to South Asia, so come along and engage with people from disparate communities and sub-communities to see what we make of this most enticing subject and its various colourful forms—South Asian food. Attendees will be invited to submit to an anthology tentatively titled 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘔𝘪𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴: 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘦, to be edited by Dr Pallavi as part of her ongoing research. Please bring with you sketching/art materials and a hard surface to rest your paper on, and join in for a morning of sketches and stories. Tickets are $5 with a refundable deposit. Sing Lit Station reserves the right to retain your deposit if you arrive more than half the duration of the event. 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐢 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 has authored Pamuk’s 𝘐𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘣𝘶𝘭: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 (Routledge 2022) and co-edited 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦: 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘈𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 (Kitaab 2021). She has been an associate professor of literary studies and writing, and a lecturer, editor and facilitator with universities and publishing houses in Singapore and India. Pallavi has been the recipient of various fellowships around the world in locations such as Turkey, Taiwan, Chile and Germany.
