He and his sax and his good looks have romped around most of the world: Europe, Africa, Cuba, Thailand, USA, Japan and Australia. He has received just about every award a Danish musician can get – Grammys and soloist awards. When he saunters on stage, there are always a few moments of total concentration; then a crisp, searching sound emerges from the bell of his sax before starting up. Perhaps jumping straight into an improvisation, perhaps a loyal interpretation of whatever tune is on the agenda.Achievements - Grammys for best Jazz-release 2003 ”Unity” and 2007 ”Everything Will be Allright”,- Arranger for the “Ache” best World-release 2009.- Awarded by the Jazzpar-foundation 2008 and the Roager-foundation 2011.- The Bent Jædig Prize 2012 and the Palæ Bar Prize 2013.JEREMY MONTEIRO is a jazz pianist, singer, composer, and music educator. He was named "Singapore's King of Swing" by the local press and was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 2002. In 1988 he performed with his band, Monteiro, Young & Holt, at the Montreux Jazz Festival, with Toots Thielemans at the Singapore Arts Festival in 2003, and two years later at the inaugural Mosaic Music Festival. He has performed or recorded with Michael Brecker, Paulinho DaCosta, Charlie Haden, Shawn Kelly, Herbie Mann, Paul Martin, James Moody, Lee Ritenour, Simon and Garfunkel, Ernie Watts, and Eldee Young.Monteiro runs his own production house, Showtime Productions, and is the Director of Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS). He was appointed to the National Arts Council Singapore, elected to the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures & Commerce in the UK, and named a Fellow of the London College of Music, which is part of the Thames Valley University. He was appointed artistic director of the Singapore International Jazz Festival in 2001.
