Antonio Vargas is best known as a renowned flamenco artist.
But he is much, much more than just that.
He is a mentor, choreographer, performer, musician, dancer, designer, builder.
These are just some of the many talents and experiences that Antonio Vargas has shared with many of us when he called Singapore his home 14 years ago. A creative inspiration to many.
Anyone who has crossed paths with Antonio Vargas would have been touched by his warmth, humility, his genius as well as his commitment and passion. For life. For art. For people.
Antonio has always had the desire to take Flamenco out of the tight boundaries of the traditional, predictable performances that most audiences were used to, without compromising its authenticity.
A Tribute to Maestro Antonio Vargas is a gathering of artistes from different genres of the arts that have collaborated in one way or another with him; sharing how they have been influenced or inspired by Antonio in his or her respective expertise. This special evening includes the exhibition of artist Y/X and his fiery depictions of Antonio.Y/X is a self-taught, accomplished artist. Balancing his artist passions with his role as CEO of Spa Esprit Group, Y/X’s artwork is frequently exhibited in group and solo shows in Singapore and overseas. Experimentation and materiality is key to his process and approach to making art. His art explores subject matters that encompass human consciousness, human conditions, dualism, and the fabric of our physical reality and spirituality.A Tribute to Maestro Antonio Vargas features performances and talents of artistes including acclaimed choreographers and directors Stephanie Burridge and Claire Wong; dancers Chang Hsiao-Min, Ponnamma Deviah and Zhuo Zihao; musicians Lalit Kumar, Rick Smith, Yong Kai Lin and Ivan Yu; award-winning animation artiste Kunyi Chen, and more who have collaborated with Antonio to explore different styles. Acclaimed flamenco artistes Tilly Wong, Daphne Huang Vargas,Toshi Konno, Nobuyoshi Nakane, Hiromi Fyfe and many others will also be performing interpretations of flamenco inspired by Antonio Vargas
It will be an evening of music, dance, singing, acting from many talented artistes. With this, we hope to celebrate Antonio’s life and to pay tribute to this amazing man who has performed in virtually every continent of the world, and yet has touched the lives of so many here in Singapore.

VIP ticket holders will be entitled to allocated and priority seating, a VIP corner for a meet and greet session with Antonio with photo opportunity and an autographed token.
