Live:聴覚と視覚のはざまでー恩田晃の実験室2018.02.24 sat - 25 sunOPEN 19:00 / START 19:30at VACANT 2Fニューヨーク在住の恩田晃が、サウンドアーティストの鈴木昭男、映像作家の牧野貴とのふたつのプロジェクトを二晩にわたって披露する。三人はいくつもの大陸に渡り国際的に活動の幅を広げ、昨年度にカッセル／アテネで行われた国際芸術展「ドクメンタ14」に日本から招待された唯一のアーティストでもある。恩田と鈴木は、2005年に出会ったその日に突如五時間のパフォーマンスを行って以来コラボレーションをつづけ、サイトスペシフィックな空間全体を使った音響と視覚の実験を繰り広げてきた。恩田は、ケン・ジェイコブスやポール・クリプソンとのコラボレーションなど、映像と音の関係性を絶えず探求し続けてきたなかで、日本で今もっとも勢いのあるフィルムメーカーである牧野貴との待望の競演が実現する。聴覚と視覚のはざまで - 恩田晃の実験室2018年2月24日（土）　　恩田晃　×　鈴木昭男25日（日）　　恩田晃　×　牧野貴開場 19:00／開演 19:30会場：VACANT （東京都渋谷区神宮前 3-20-13）チケット：前売 ¥3,000+drink / 当日 ¥3,500+drink / 2日通し券 ¥5,000+drink企画・主催：VACANT<PROFILE>恩田晃/Aki Ondaサウンド・アーティスト。日本に生まれ、ニューヨーク在住。四半世紀に渡って録り溜めたフィールド・レコーディングによる「サウンド・ダイアリー」を用いたプロジェクト「カセット・メモリーズ」で知られている。カセット・ウォークマンを楽器として使用。録音を行なうだけでなく、エレクトロニクスとともに操りパフォーマンスを行なう。ジャンルを越境し、美術、映像、ダンスの分野でも活動。マイケル・スノウ、ケン・ジェイコブス、アラン・リクト、ローレン・コナーズ、鈴木昭男、横田大輔らとコラボレーションを継続してきた。不断に旅をつづけ、欧米のみならず、南米、アジアでも演奏、展示を行ってきた。これまで、ニューヨークのMoMA、The Kitchen、ニューミュージアム、ポートランドのTBAフェスティバル、パリのルーブル美術館、ポンピドゥー・センター、ロンドンのICA、ロッテルダム国際映画祭、東京のSound Live Tokyoなどで作品を発表してきた。鈴木昭男/Akio Suzuki1941年生まれ、京丹後市在住。サウンド・アートの先駆者的存在として，1960年代初頭より「聴く」ことを主体とした制作態度によって国際的に活動する。63年「階段に物を投げる」のハプニングによって音の世界に目覚め、「自修イベント」を展開した。70年に創作楽器のエコー・インスツルメント「ANALAPOS」を創作。78年にフェスティバル・ドートンヌ・パリ「間展」に出場以来「コンセプチュアル・サウンド・パフォーマンス」を展開。88年には子午線上にある京都府網野町に、一日自然の音に耳をすますという行為を行なうための「日向ぼっこの空間」を制作した。96年には，地面に足跡のように見える耳のマークを描き，その上に立ってその場所の音に耳をすませる「点音」を発表する。大英博物館、ザツキン美術館、京都国立近代美術館、TBAフェスティバルなど、欧米を中心に世界の主要な美術展や音楽祭に招聘されている。牧野貴/Takashi Makino1978年東京生まれ。2001年に日本大学芸術学部映画学科撮影・録音コース卒業。2001年からの十年間、カラーリストとして多くの劇映画やCF、ミュージックビデオ等の色彩を担当し、映像に関する技術を高める。2004年から、自然現象や人間や街などをフィルムやヴィデオなど多様なフォーマットで撮影後、編集においてレイヤーを再構築、無限に広がり続けるような極めて有機的でイマジネーションに富んだ映像作品を作り出してきた。国際的に高く評価され、インスタレーション、上映、パフォーマンスを世界各地で行っている。ジム・オルーク、大友良英、坂本龍一、サイモン・フィッシャー・ターナーなど前衛音楽家とのコラボレーションも多数。2011年にロッテルダム国際映画祭短編部門でグランプリを獲得した他、日本人としては初のグランプリをハンブルグ国際短編映画祭、モスクワ国際実験映画祭などで受賞。近年は、サンフランシスコMoMA、MoMA、PS1、ニューヨーク映画祭、ホワイトチャペルギャラリーなどで上映が行われた。イベント詳細ページ : www.vacant.vc/single-post/inbetweensoundandvision-In Between Sound & Vision New York-based artist and composer Aki Onda presents a two-night set of collaborations with sound artist Akio Suzuki and filmmaker Takashi Makino. These artists have presented their work internationally, and were the only Japanese artists invited to the international art exhibition "documenta 14" last year.Onda and Suzuki began collaborating together in 2005. Their first collaboration, presented on the first day they met, lasted over 5 hours. Since then, they have been exploring the possibilities of site-specific approaches to sound.Onda has also been consistently exploring the relationship between the visual and the sonic throughout his career, and has collaborated with filmmakers such as Ken Jacobs and Paul Clipson. He is particularly known for his Cassette Memories — works compiled from a “sound diary” of field-recordings collected by using the cassette Walkman over a span of last quarter-century. He creates compositions, performances, and visual artworks from those sound memories. Onda often performs in interdisciplinary fields and collaborates with filmmakers, visual artists, and choreographers, including Ken Jacobs, Michael Snow, Raha Raissnia, Akio Suzuki, and Takao Kawaguchi. Onda’s work has been presented numerous institutions such as MoMA, The Kitchen, Pompidou Center, Louve Museum, Palais de Tokyo, Bozar, and many others. Since the 1960s, sound art pioneer Akio Suzuki has been investigating the acoustic quality of selected locations and creating corresponding topographies. His intensive involvement with the phenomena of pulse and echo led him to develop his own instruments in the 1970s. One of these is the spiral echo instrument Analapos. It consists of a coil spring and two iron cylinders that function as resonating chambers, and is played with the voice or by hand. Starting from the 90s, his soundwalk project, oto-date, which means, respectively, "sound" and "point" in Japanese, finds listening points in the city, and playfully invites the audience to stop and listen carefully at given points on the map. Suzuki has been also active in the improvised music scenes in different continents, and has collaborated with Takehisa Kosugi, Derek Bailey, Steve Lacy, George Lewis, David Toop, and John Butcher. Makino Takashi is an experimental filmmaker who lives and works in Tokyo. He creates and exhibits films that make full use of all film and video techniques, treating the image and the music as elements of equal importance. He has collaborated musicians such as Jim O’Rourke, Otomo Yoshihide, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Simon Fisher Turner. Makino was prominently featured at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2008. Since then, his cinema works were screened in over 100 cities in the world, including New York Film Festival, MoMA PS1, New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, San Francisco MoMA, Whitechapel Gallery in London, Austrian Film Museum, and The Korean Film Archive.
