Limited spaces are available.Part of the Light to Night Festival 2018.About Portal of PatternsBy Kllylmrck (Kelly Limerick)19 to 28 January, ACM LobbyInspired by the colour wheel, colour harmony, and patterns found in art of various Asian cultures, this yarn-bomb artwork catches the eye with bold, repeated patterns. Playing with colour contrasts and combinations inspired by museum objects, simple geometric shapes give depth to the patterns that visually invade the museum. The result is a patch in the fabric of reality, making viewers question whether they actually know what lies beneath the foundations of things that have grown so familiar.About Kelly LimerickKelly Limerick is the pseudonym of Singapore artist Kelly Lim. She picked up crochet at the age of seven, then taught herself knitting, and has since been coming up with original designs for both techniques.Yarn is Kelly's most familiar medium, and she often creates without a sketch or pattern, producing unique designs that are almost impossible to replicate. Her artworks focus on textures and details, and often include elements of kimo-kawaii, a Japanese term meaning "creepy-cute". Much like a living object, her art "grows" with new inspirations every single day.Frequently Asked QuestionsWhy is there a refundable deposit? As the venue has limited spaces, the deposit will be held as a form of commitment from the registrant.
