It is here that they navigate their world. They not only learn social skills, they also develop resilience, critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they engage in play. But play is not always fun - there is politics. There are sometimes a few kings of the jungle. There are hard life lessons and muscles to build which shapes a child’s character. What comes out of play for children? How do we support and hold space for them to have honest conversations on big feelings? What has to shift in our culture for children to thrive on challenging grounds?  The fireside chat brings together arts education researcher Dr Esther Joosa and cultural change strategist Shiao-Yin Kuik as they unpack what happens at the playground that helps our children grow, fall, and pick themselves up.
