Malaysian Economy - Near & Far Future

Description

Economic outlook for Malaysia in the short-and-long-term, good policies that we need, and impact of digitalisation.

The global economy is entering 2018 in a position of strength, with recovery in investment, international trade and confidence expected. Yet, serious risks and challenges remain. Also over the longer horizon, significant structural shifts led by technology, demography, and changes to our biosphere will threaten to upend tried and tested development strategies for emerging economies.

Against this, how will the Malaysian economy fare? Will the current strength of growth – driven in large by domestic activities – be sustainable in the short-term given our level of indebtedness? How can we still grow? How will the future of work and the contour of income inequality change in Malaysia?

Join us for a discussion on these issues based on rigorous analysis rather than hype.
