MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTSKHAi @khaimusicThe Singapore-based artist KHAi draws inspiration from the likes of Lewis Watson, Bruno Major, Nick Wilson and Damien Rice, recreating the soul and life of their music with his personal touch. Since the release of his debut EP, it’s been known that the 27 year old singer-songwriter had always had a nebulous approach when it comes to his craft of songwriting – never allowing himself to be too comfortable with a fixated sound, and always bobbing and weaving around the imaginary boundaries of each genre.aeriqah @aeriqahSingapore-based artist, aeriqah, describes herself as a singer/storytelling-songwriter in a post-genre world. Though if anyone asks, indie-folk with some influence of pop and musical theatre. Her writing explores the complexities of mental health, heartbreak and letting go. She documents lessons in learning to be kinder to herself and extends that to her listeners. The brutally honest lyrics and sentimental nature of aeriqah’s songs takes influence from the music of dodie, Lizzy McAlpine and JP Saxe.In August 2022, she hosted a sold-out album launch show at Aliwal Arts Centre for her debut album, All We Have. She believes in being intersectional with her beliefs on human rights, because there is space for everybody. Marian Carmel @mariancarmelmusicBorn in the Philippines and raised in Singapore, singer-songwriter Marian Carmel has an innate ability to evoke emotions. Her ethereal vocals breathe life into the melancholic nature of her songs and are influenced by the story-driven songwriting styles of Lizzy McAlpine, Sabrina Claudio, Reese Lansangan, Dayglow and Valley.Having released her first significant body of work, Marian Carmel’s debut album “To You, To Me” has solidified her position in the region as one of the most promising singer-songwriters and topliners from Singapore.Jean Seizure @jeanseizureJean Seizure is a mishmash of many things. An openly queer actor, stuntwoman, singer-songwriter, painter, poet and fitness trainer, Jean stepped into the world of performance art at the tender age of six and never looked back. Jean is a Spotify RADAR artist and was appointed Spotify EQUAL ambassador in June 2022, where she represented Singapore and Malaysia on a billboard at New York City’s legendary Times Square.Jean’s original works are mostly inspired by life and heartbreak and she believes that trials and tribulations are potential battle scars to be shared with people looking for a glimpse of hope.cayes @cayeshongcayes is a polygenreous musician who enjoys both opera and metalcore in the same playlist. every year they struggle to explain their spotify wrapped. they don’t really know what they are doing most of the time. no thoughts. just vibes.RENE @reneannwongMeaningful and relatable lyrics, rich vocals, and catchy guitar lines are what make up RENE’s signature sound. Greatly inspired by pop, rock, punk, and indie music, she enjoys creating without being bound by genre, and is influenced by a mix of artists including Phoebe Bridgers, McFly, and Beabadoobee.Respect, growth, and integrity are the most important values to her as an artist. Her strong determination to perfect her craft and better the environment around her are what inspire her to create music, as reflected in her songwriting which focuses on themes such as societal commentary, self-reflection, and personal relationships.
