This series hopes to enable caregivers to come to terms with their daily challenges and for some, the loss of their loved ones. These 4 stories tell the different stages of dementia these caregivers are experiencing with their loved ones. Alison's mother was first diagnosed with dementia in 2017. Alison's mother is outgoing, very sociable, super friendly and highly likeable by all her life touches. She has a generous heart, joyful spirit, full of energy, enthusiasm, laughter and fun. Her motto in life : “never a dull moment”. She is a very big hearted woman and absolutely giving and selfless in her interactions with others. She loved to use her hands to make things, cooked and baked, made hampers only to share and give out to others. Always used her own money and never expected anything in return. Since then, the illness has progressed rapidly and her mother is now in her advanced stage of dementia. Alison is taking care of her, with the help of a domestic helper. She is not able to speak coherently. The loss of muscle mass has also caused her inablity to have much motor skills even the simplest task like touching her own face and moving her fingers proved to be very difficult.Join us for this intimate session where Alison talks about how caring for her mother is like.
