Established by British-born architect, academic, author and TV presenter, Prof. Jason Pomeroy, the Singapore-based firm is both a designer and thought leader of sustainable built environments. Pomeroy Studio seeks to redefine notions of sustainability by covering less-explored parameters: namely space, culture and technology, in addition to the oft-accepted social, economic and environmental parameters. The mantra of ‘reducing, re-using and recycling’ is similarly reframed by the studio’s additions of ‘rethinking’ and ‘repurposing’. The self-perpetuating circle of projects, research findings, academic publications and media activities has allowed the Studio to continually expand its range and thus influence the system. This day-long event therefore seeks to demonstrate some of those circular design initiatives that has the ‘5r’s’ at its core, alongside the academy’s research endeavours to bring sustainability and the circular agenda to a broader audience. -- 6:00 - 6:40pm | Reception 6:40 - 6:50pm | Opening Remarks 6:50 - 7:20pm | Circularity Lecture 7:20 - 8:00pm | Fireside Chat Join us for light refreshments provided by SaladStop!, Stanhope Chesterfields and Pomeroy Academy after the talk!** Free via registration for tickets, on first come first basis. About Pomeroy Studio Pomeroy Studio is an award-winning international team of designers and thought leaders of sustainable built environments. The studio is comprised of master planners, landscape architects, architects, interior and graphic designers and sustainability consultants. Quantitative and qualitative research complements an interdisciplinary design process that lies at the foundation of their creative design and decision-making. Projects are undertaken in the sectors of Residential, Workplace, Retail and Mixed Use, Hospitality and Leisure, Light Industrial, Culture and Conservation. Designs are rigorously tested to objectively reduce the reliance on natural resources, to preserve the natural and built environment. This has generated people-centred places, from the macro-scale of cities to the micro-scale of buildings that pushes the envelope of design and balances a ‘creative vigour with an academic rigour’.
