Each participant will have the opportunity to share their own stories in poetic form infused with some dramatic tools in performance. This will allow students to unravel what’s been inside their hearts and minds theatrically, and to create embodied experiences by utilizing the poetic form. Students will explore acting techniques that emphasize Spoken Word, Speech Forensics and Sensorial Elements. Additional facilitation in creating a sonic world through Voice They will learn and demonstrate movement through language and physicality. Find one’s voice by using their artistic imagination and then bringing it to life through words. Learning Outcomes Learn about the Performer's practice that will engage the student’s mind, body and rhetoric. The workshop will allow full self-expression for the performer. Actors will deepen their understanding and use of acting techniques in representational theater to instill depth and breadth in the portrayal of believable characters whether they are based on reality or imagination. The artists will learn to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances. Poets will learn how to present their poetry to life with other artists through ensemble collaboration. About The InstructorGiovanni Ortega is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and public speaker who believes in creating an accepting and inclusive relationship with artists and international communities. In 2016, Ortega started The Body Series at the Haque Centre of Acting and Creativity in Singapore. The devised plays include Creation of My Body, Words of My Body, Thoughts of My Body and Map of My Body. They have also been workshopped at the National Theatre of Parramatta (Sydney) and East West Players (LA).
