Buddha and the cat

"Buddha and the cat" is a series of tours that generates food for animals in monasteries.

Each tour focuses on a specific Buddha or Bodhisattva like a who is who in Buddhism.
This information will be relevant when you visit other monasteries.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (大愿地藏王菩萨)

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, is one of the most well-known Bodhisattva in Chinese Mahayana Buddhism. He is also found in Taoist temples.

He is the only Bodhisattva dressed in a monk's robe but is often mixed up as another Buddhist personalities. and also often "associated" with hell and death.

So come find out about his history and what he symbolizes.

This tour will take place at Poh Ern Shih,
one of the very rare monasteries dedicated to this Bodhisattva and has a very interesting founding story related to Singapore's WW2 history.

Come and find out who is this Bodhisattva, the history of Poh Ern Shih and how is this tour related to animal welfare. If we are lucky, the monastery cat may also join us for the tour.
