In close conversation with two established speakers from the local fashion industry, they will contribute to the deeper discussion of Singapore HeritageFest 2022's theme on Natural Heritage and how it remains relevant in the fashion industry, by drawing on their areas of expertise. The session will its audience on a slow walk through of Natural Heritage, followed by a detailed look at each of its speakers' backgrounds, before taking a deep dive into the topics at hand.Speakers Aqilah Zailan is the founder of ethical fashion label Gypsied, which transforms heritage textiles into beautiful products for conscious lifestyles. Gypsied focuses largely on the culture of Batik, pulling from Aqilah’s heritage and experiences exploring Indonesia. Georgette Yu is an lecturer and domain co-ordinator in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts’ Fashion Studies programme. Specialising in design development, Georgette has held numerous design positions in the private sector. Presently, she teaches at NAFA, where she aids in the research and planning for collaborative arts programmes. This will be a hybrid programme allowing participants to tune in online or attend onsite. Attendees will also have the opportunity to pose any questions they may have during the final Q&A session!
