Kicking off with an educational talk, we delve into sharing about The Local Tree Project and our efforts utilising local resources and reducing wastage. Engage in conversation with us about the stories of our local trees. You will also be able to partake in creating your very own pair of wooden chopsticks and pencils through our workshop experience! Utilising offcuts—materials that are leftover—we wish to share how they could be turned into usable products, rather than discarding them. This programme is open to everyone, no experience is required for participants to take part in our workshops. The duration of this programme is 1.5 hours. This programme is part of the Singapore Heritage Festival 2022. About Singapore HeritageFestThe Singapore HeritageFest (SHF) is the National Heritage Board’s signature annual outreach event that celebrates the many facets of Singapore’s diverse heritage and culture. SHF works with individuals, groups and communities to co-create programmes and offerings. This allows the festival to uncover lesser-known stories and narratives, engender a greater sense of ownership, and empower Singaporeans to safeguard and promote our shared heritage. The inaugural edition of SHF was staged in 2004, and since then, the festival has continued to provide on-site and online experiences with yearly themes that focus on different aspects of Singapore’s heritage.
