Leave behind the hustle and bustle of the pre Christmas Orchard Road shopping frenzy and join us for a more spiritual experience in some of Singapore’s finest churches and cathedrals. We will start at the majestic St Andrew’s Cathedral, a vibrant Protestant community with services carried out in 7 languages. Then we will follow in the footsteps of the French Catholic nuns who laid the foundations of the Convent, orphanage and the Chapel of the Convent of Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ), now a busy social hub known as CHIJMES. Along Bras Basah Road at the impressive and newly restored Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, our oldest Roman Catholic church, we will enjoy its Bethlehem and Nativity Scene. We will also find out more about the admirable Father Beurel and La Salle Brothers who also founded nearby St Joseph's Institution. We will next admire the beauty of the once dilapidated, now restored to its former glory, Saints Peter and Paul Church in Queen Street, home to Chinese Christians. Having visited the Scottish, French, Eurasians and Chinese, we will complete the mosaic of the local Christian community by ending our tour at The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, home to our Tamil Christians.
