About the Exhibition
The Ghost of Sister Ping is based in a history of Chinese ghost fictions, while it produces a new fiction taking place in two locations in Hong Kong’s New Territories. The art installation presents the frustrated romance of a young academic, Sister Ping, in two rooms with a looping montage of non-linear depictions of her life and a soundtrack of her powerful, ethereal and sexy voice.
Visitors are welcome to join the love journey of Sister Ping, feeling her love affair more closely through reading her diary, touching her clothes, trying on her gloves, and peeping into the bedroom of her ex-lover who deserted her and turns out to be having a gay sex affair acting as “bottom” for a much younger lover and homme fatale, Fritz.
