He established an environmental research venture, founded an air pollution technology startup, and developed global partnerships in a multinational water company. Uriel leads PLANETech, a climate change innovation community, that promotes the development and implementation of climate change technologies across a broad set of sectors. PLANETech functions as a network for the Israeli and global climate tech ecosystem, tackling the most prominent global challenge – climate change. Uriel holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Commentator: Prof. Masakazu SugiyamaMasakazu Sugiyama is a Professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) of the University of Tokyo. His major research topics are high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) devices using the nano-epitaxial structures of III-V compound semiconductors. He is a recognized leader in the sustainable conversion of solar energy to next-generation fuels. He is a program manager of the Japanese MOONSHOT program, aiming to realize CO2 capture and conversion to chemical feedstocks driven by renewable electricity. He authored and coauthored 300 refereed journal publications and 510 international conference papers. He is concurrently the chair of the two social cooperation research departments of "Renewable Fuel Global Network" and "Next Generation of Energy Distribution System."  Moderator: Prof. Satoshi IkeuchiSatoshi Ikeuchi is a Professor of Religion and Global Security at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) of the University of Tokyo and the Head of ROLES (RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergence Strategies). Professor Ikeuchi has published extensively on Middle East politics, Islamic political thought and global security challenges.
