Individuals can be allowed entry into museum premises in group sizes of up to 5 persons if all are vaccinated. If there is more than one child aged 12 years and below in the group of 5 persons, both children must be from the same household.-----This workshop will be conducted physically at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. After registering, remember to save the date in your calendar - we hope to see you soon!------Participants will be able to learn the basics of lantern decoration through printmaking in this workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to design patterns, paint pattern with a paintbrush, and then print them in colour and transfer the design onto lanterns. Participants can also learn more about the print-making process, the history and culture of traditional printing and printmaking to gain better knowledge in the fine arts and enhance our understanding and grasp of Chinese culture.Conducted by: Jimm WongJimm Wong is an avid trader of antiques and traditional art. He is also one of the last few traditional lantern makers in Singapore making Fuzhou and Cantonese style lanterns. He strives to not only preserve the traditional art form but has also the courage to innovate. His lanterns are widely admired locally and overseas, and have even been exhibited overseas. In addition to making lanterns, Jimm is also passionate about the engraving and printing process of woodblock prints. He also teaches woodblock printing courses to the public, sparing no effort in passing on traditional skills.
