Audience are invited to bring a handful of rice from their homes to take part in the ceremony.About Chu Hao Pei:Chu Hao Pei (b.1990, Singapore) is a visual artist whose practice explores the shifting physical, sociological and emotional connections with our natural and urban landscapes. His works shed light on the overlooked and accidental by interweaving the processes of engagement, documentation and research to examine the complexities of environmental and cultural loss (or resurgence) shaped by political, economic and social factors. In his residency with SAM, Hao Pei is investigating rice seed sovereignty and the amnesia/disconnection with the common grain among the urbanites.Location:Residencies Space, Singapore Art Museum at Tanjong Pagar Distripark39 Keppel Road, #03-07Singapore 089065(Entrance via SAM Office Entrance. What kind of COVID-19 precautions are in place for this activity?Number of participants will be limited, and tables will be sanitised before and after each session. No materials will be cross shared among participants.All participants will be required to sanitise their hands before the session, always wear a mask, and avoid mingling beyond their group.COVID-19 phase advisory safe management measures:In accordance to the updated MOH's COVID-19 phase advisory, we regret to inform that only fully vaccinated are allowed to participate. You will be required to present your TraceTogether app or token, or any of the following documents (which may be relevant) for entry: i. Vaccination status and test result on the HealthHub Appii. Physical vaccination certificates/reports/cards under the National Vaccination Programme2. How many friends/family members can I attend with?Groups of 5 (inclusive of artist), as required by the current Safe Management Measures. Participants will be required to remain in their group of 5 and avoid mingling with other attendees.3. Why is there a refundable deposit of $10?As workshop spaces are highly limited, the deposit ensures that the facilitator’s time is maximised and that all registered participants will attend. The deposit will be refunded 24-hours after the event, for all who participate.The deposit will be forfeited if you fail to show up and do not cancel your registration before the event.
