About Yoga for Running:Yoga for Running is the perfect cross training and recovery activity to balance strength and flexibility in the body. If you’re a runner (or not! doesn't matter), this workshop will help relieve soreness and tension in overused muscles groups, increase your flexibility, strengthen and lengthen leg muscles, build upper back strength for improved posture and ease of running, stretch your IT band and supporting muscle groups, and help prevent injuries that often accompany long distance running. You’ll take home mindfulness and focus techniques, and a worksheet of tips and stretches to pair with your training or workouts. The workshop will be a Vinyasa style flow, focusing on coordinating breath and movement to flow from one pose to the next. We'll discuss what stretches and poses you can take into your routines, and why they are good for you.Date: 15th October, SundayTime: 11am - 1pmVenue: Organica StudiosPrice: Rm60 (early bird limited to 8pax) - Sold out!Rm80 full priceAbout Cynthia's yoga for running:Within 1 year, I was able to complete 2 full marathons and an ultramarathon (50k/31mi)... because of yoga. From Aug 2015 to Aug 2016, I ran the Angkor Wat Marathons in Cambodia around ancient temples, the Malaysia Women Marathon in Kuala Lumpur, and the ultramarathon at Burning Man in a desert (all HOT runs). I barely "trained" in the traditional marathon sense. My first marathon in Chicago 2011, I ran once a week for 6 months. During this 1 year, I ran a total of 7 runs between 5k-20k (3-13 miles). Instead, my training was lots of yoga.... and it actually worked! for these 3 a When I looked into it more, I realized how much yoga trains the mind and body for running, among so many other things. This class + workshop is for runners, beginner or practicing yogis, or anyone who just wants to stay fit and just have fun build strength and flexibility. You'd also get a worksheet of how yoga can improve your running and what you can do at home!-----About the yoga instructor:Cynthiã Wõng is currently on a mission to create 1 million inspired moments to empower people all over the world to step into their passions and light.
