Peacetime Kitchen: Talk and Cooking Demonstration

Description
Come taste and learn about the creativity and ingenuity of wartime cooks from their recipe legacies, with dishes such as banana marmalade and savoury pork and noodles brought to new life for contemporary kitchens. The programme will see award-winning food writer, culinary instructor and photographer Christopher Tan share tales and tidbits in this talk and live demonstration of heritage dishes from popular cookbooks and personal notebooks from the war years.

About Christopher Tan
Christopher Tan is an award-winning writer, photographer, author and instructor whose original words, images and recipes centre on food, culture and heritage, and have been published in 12 books and many international magazines.



This programme is part of Witness to War exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore.
