Celebrating the 10th anniversary milestone of Republic Polytechnic's Gamelan Naga Kencana, this production has provided an opportunity for the members from various generations, to gather once again in concert."Dissonance" and "Harmony", may sound paradoxical when both terms are put together. However, this defines a key character of an ensemble. The dissonance comes from the different instruments that make up the ensemble. Each instrument is crafted differently to suit the instrumentation structure of the ensemble. But when played in unison, the variance in sounds are layered together perfectly, producing a unique harmony. This is the inspiration behind SEDASA : SEDULUR : SEIRAMA - A decade of dissonance and harmony.Presented in collaboration with Republic Polytechnic's Beats Encore and Dikir Barat, the show feature three diverse arts forms from different parts of the world. The audience will be brought on a musical journey of eclectic mix of sounds, from traditional to contemporary.
