Join us for an exclusive access into these architectural gems as we bring you closer than ever into these projects and get behind-the- scenes with the designers who brought them to life.TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:Sunray Woodcraft Construction Headquaters | DP Architects(Photo Credit: DP Architects)The project presents an opportunity to look afresh at the light industrial factory type, in which working conditions are optimized by stacking production processes. The building’s stacked box design is a series of interconnected volumes that correspond to their interior functions. The success of the design lies in its seamless yet clearly articulated manner of merging five different functions within a single eight-storey building. The project commercially optimizes factory production and business processes while balancing the need for an uplifting work and living space, workers’ dormitories, warehouse, offices and showrooms in ‘stacked boxes’. Each box defines the different stages of production without compromising safety, and is enveloped by suitable exterior skins. Yellow, Sunray’s corporate colour, was used throughout the façade; effectively creating a distinctive and refreshing identity. This refreshing interpretation of the industrial factory building design received the prestigious President’s Design Award, and was praised as “a welcome departure from the norm that provides a benchmark for future developments of this kind”.Chempedak House | A_Collective Architects(Photo credit: A_Collective Architects)Small but BigThe design eschews the typical compartmentation found in terrace houses for a fluid spatial arrangement. The ground floor is a sequence of living spaces that flows towards the heart of the house where a light well brings in abundant natural daylight. Coupled with the siting of the house on a high platform level, the entire ground floor open out to the view of the natural reserve in the distant. The architecture choose to focus on the use of simple materials and keen attention to detailing. The house simple exterior is rendered in bold raw screed finish that contrast the dark tinted glass fenestrations and a large overhanging canopy. The simple form and bold design gesture allows the house to exert a quiet presence in the neighborhood.Singapore Dance Theater | DP Architects(Photo Credit: DP Architects)The new campus of the Singapore Dance Theatre comprises a theatre housing four professional dance studios along with supporting facilities such as the conference room, sound mixing room, study room, library, wardrobe room and shower facilities. The circulation of the space was planned to allow for private users to access the studios via secured thresholds, while maintaining a welcoming space at the foyer for the public to experience and enjoy.A spacious corridor facing the roof garden leads to the site where huge perforated sliding doors mark its entrance. With the aim of on public outreach and education on dance as a performing art, these doors are kept fully opened during operating hours. They maximise the luxury of space and merge the public space with the foyer, drawing visitors in to witness the hard work and dedication of professional ballet dancers at practice.Sale of tickets will close 3 days before tour date, or until sold out.Tour timing is subject to change. For student attendees, please present a valid Student Pass for verification on the tour day.
