Making Sense & Dollars - Financial Literacy Workshop

UPDATED 26/09/2017: Receive a $10 shopping voucher with every VIP ticket

Are you ‘financially phobic’? Do you shy away from anything to do with financial information, from bank statements to calculating expenses to investments?

Money can be an intimidating thing, and this workshop will teach you how to:

  • love your money and enjoy having more
  • measure your financial health
  • learn how to spend comfortably while earning more
  • track your money
  • build a fund
  • invest for the future
  • avoid financial fraud schemes
  • discover the real criteria of good investments

This workshop offers a simple, interactive and even fun way to assess your financial situation and get on the right track to enjoying money instead of fearing it so that you can live to your fullest potential and approach financial choices with confidence.

More than 41% of the female population struggle financially, according to Wider Opportunities for Women, a nonprofit group dedicated to female empowerment. A slowly recovering economy and persistent wage gap makes it imperative for women to increase their financial knowledge.

Generally speaking, women earn less, save less, and live longer—but are still responsible for the same living expenses men pay. Overcoming these obstacles demands serious dedication to planning exactly how you will spend your money.

Single women of all types –unmarried, divorced and widowed—from age 44 to 64 are under-prepared for retirement. IRA and $401,000 balances fall short compared to male equivalents. Single and married women tend to focus on priorities other than retirement, like paying for their children’s needs and owning a house.

Learning how to increase earnings and handle the resources at your disposal—including time, money and education—to the fullest potential can help you live a quality life and approach financial choices with confidence.

Join us for an insightful and fun evening over wine and cheese to learn and possibly find new like-minded friends in your financial literacy journey!
