Movement lends credibility to a character.
By moving with specificity, performers establish a sense of confidence and self-awareness without being self-conscious.

The Animal Exercise workshop enhances the embodiment of unique characters through rigorous and specific physical characterization: How would we play an animal the same way that we play a character? Why and how would this change our physicality? How different or alike are we to the animals we wish to portray? Will the world change if we look at it through the eyes of an animal?

This workshop will focus on the psychophysical characteristics of apes and monkeys. It is the first of a two-part series where students gain awareness of their body as they learn to physicalize a character with great exactitude

Participants must have attended (or are currently attending) Lee Strasberg’s Method Acting (Introduction).
