Begin the weekend with a stay in a relaxing B&B, before a moderate hike and camping under the stars. Challenge yourself with the trek to the summit by flashlight to feast your eyes upon the spectacular rising sun above the mountains across the sea.Gunung Agung is Bali’s highest and holiest mountain, and is topped with an enormous volcanic crater that provides sweeping views of Bali to the west, with the Penida islands and Lombok's Mount Rinjani to the east. Agung has 2 peaks, the southern and western peak. This trek will take us to the true peak, the western peak, at 3,031m above sea level. For this weekend excursion, arrive Friday early evening for transfer to your bed and breakfast accommodation in a rural mountainside setting. Relax with a delicious local dinner prepared for you, and get a good night's sleep in the quiet mountain air. Wake to coffee and tea waiting for you, and after breakfast, stroll around the gardens or the local village. Return for a healthy lunch before being picked up to begin the mountain adventure!Pura Agung, one of the Balinese temples on the mountain, is where you begin your hike. This trek will take us from dirt path into deep forest and up barren volcanic soil above the treeline to the campsite. We will have time for a nice dinner prepared by the guides at camp (circa 2,400masl) and a long nap before getting up for the sunrise hike at 2am. On a clear night, enjoy your dinner by the campfire under the spectacular starry skies. Trek to the summit in chilly mountain air with your headlamp lighting your way, rest your legs at the summit while waiting for the sun to appear, become enchanted by the glorious sunrise and warm yourself in it's rays. Look across the sea and above the clouds! On a clear day, there are majestic views of Lombok’s Mt Rinjani to be had as well as Bali spread out underneath your feet. We begin in tropical humid weather, and we summit in very cool (possibly windy) conditions. The final 2 hours of the hike can be steep, so basic fitness is required. The descent is along the same path, slow along the steep rocky sections, overlooking the Balinese countryside far below. The vistas are as breathtaking as the altitude. All of this adventure in just a short weekend away!Relax in a countryside B&B. Camp under the stars and moon. Trek to a rising sun. Push yourself past mental fatigue and burning legs. The experience will be unforgettable! For more detail info, itinerary, RSVP, package cost and payment, pls go to this link: https://goo.gl/rfE1eM
