CELEBRATE WORLD ALZHEIMER'S MONTH WITH WE REMEMBER! FESTIVAL THIS SEPTEMBERWe’re celebrating World Alzheimer’s Month this September through film, music, art and photography! The event aims to bring the journey of dementia and the impact caregivers face to light. Join us in changing the story around dementia. World Alzheimer's Month is the international campaign led by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) every September to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. REGISTRATIONEntry to the event is FREE, there is a fee for main room activities. Participants who would like to attend the main room activities will have to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are priced at $18 each for attendees.In collaboration with Viddsee and Our Better World, A Walk Through Dementia will feature 5 dementia-related short-films from Singapore and beyond, and an animation produced by Our Better World for World Alzheimer’s Month. Join Grace Baey from Our Better World, Khoo Siew May, Animator and Melissa Chan, Founder of Project We Forgot as they discuss dementia and the power of storytelling.> Get Your Headspace On (Mindfulness Session) - 2.30pm - 4pmRegistration is required for this event. Tickets are priced at $15 each for attendees.Stress has the ability to rob us of our happiness. Mindfulness, a mind-body approach, trains our minds to be aware of the stressors and steers away from the habitual patterns of worrying and rumination. Join Eric as he shares how mindfulness can help to enhance your physical health and emotional wellness through an interactive and hands-on practical session! In this session, Eric will also share how mindfulness has helped him as a young caregiver for his father who suffers from vascular dementia.> Flex N’ Flow (Yoga Session) - 4pm - 5.30pmRegistration is required for this event. Tickets are priced at $15 each for attendees.The Mindful Breath Flow is a simple and gentle yoga sequence with an emphasis on the basics – one’s breath. Join instructor Marilyn from Akash Yoga as she leads you in a 40-minute grounding yoga session to calm and refresh the mind. Please note to bring your own mats.Thereafter, join Priscilla Tan, a caregiver to her father with dementia, as she shares her personal experience and the impact yoga has brought about in her journey.> A Walk Through Dementia’ Film Event + Producers Speak Out - 5.30pm - 7.30pmRegistration is required for this event. Tickets are priced at $18 each for attendees.In collaboration with Viddsee, A Walk Through Dementia will feature 5 dementia-related short-films from Singapore and beyond. Join three of the films’ producers, Melvin Chan, Chang Kai Xiang, Koh and Chong Wu, and Co-founder of Viddsee, Derek Tan, in an interactive discussion as they discuss their experiences in producing the films, their learning points, and how they use film to highlight societal issues in our communities. Check out the film line-up for more details on the film and producers.> #SongsToSpark - An Acoustic Gig - 8pm OnwardsOpen to Public!Music plays a huge role in helping to engage with persons with dementia! Dedicate or request a tune you would use to engage with your loved one in the form below. Then join us as we wrap up We Remember! 2017 with acoustic sets playing your requested tunes till late.
