ANADIGI Presents "White Board Music Session #5

White-Board Music Session #5 is happening on the 23rd August 2017, Wednesday!

This "White-Board Music" features fresh faces in our local music scene this year; Vivien Yap and Vincent Tan. Both singer-songwriters are currently uni-students by day, and school life has never discouraged them from writing more songs. Let them share their song writing inspirations and stories with you. Hurry get your tickets now!

Vivien Yap (aka @buttlicks)

Viven Yap, a young and charismatic singer songwriter who describes herself as neither agonisingly beautiful nor frustratingly intelligent. At 14, her guitar teacher gave up on her after 12 lessons. But behold! At 16, she wrote her first song about someone (she can’t remember who, it was probably a boy). Then at 19, after a painful hiatus from music, Vivien started putting up original music online. Regardless of roadblocks, Vivien doesn't plan to give up on music again.

Armed with an unhealthy obsession of humour, love and heartbreak, Vivien sings about the honesty of life because to her, art can exist without metaphors. “My guiding principle is sometimes life sucks and it’s not okay. Bad juju happens to everyone and it’s good to admit and talk about your feelings. That’s what I sing for.”

Vincent Tan (aka VALIANTES)

VALIANTES otherwise known as Vincent Tan, is a 25 year-old singer-songwriter from Singapore, currently studying in Masters of Architecture in NUS. Light, stripped down and honest, each of his song reveals almost a dairy-like context to his everyday music and song. A sound that cannot be replicated away from Singapore, Vincent mixes local sounds and mellow beats. With influences like Jon Foreman, Jack Johnson, Charlie Lim, John Mayer and Damien Rice, VALIANTES produces music that is genuine and straight to the heart.
