日本翻訳者協会（JAT）が主催する翻訳・通訳の年次カンファレンス、IJET（International Japanese-English Translation Conference）が、2014年6月21日〜22日に初めて東京で開催されます。JATとは、1985年に翻訳者・通訳者の情報交換の場として設立された団体で、IJETは今年で25回目の開催となります。IJETが関東地区で開催されるのは十数年ぶりであり、初参加の方も多いのではないでしょうか。そこで、IJET-25実行委員会では、日本各地で実施しているプレイベントの最後となる第4弾として、JATの東京活動委員会(TAC)と共同で、IJETについてより理解を深めていただくためのイベントを東京で開催いたします。このイベントでは、参加者同士の交流を深めるビンゴ・ゲームを皮切りに、川月現大氏によるグループワーク形式の日本語ライティング・トーク、ミニ・ビブリオバトル、「ここが知りたい！IJET-25」の4つのセッションを行い、参加者にネットワーキングの場と、JATとIJETについて詳しく知っていただく機会をご提供します。JAT会員、非会員を問わず、翻訳・通訳の仕事についている方はもちろん、翻訳者・通訳者を目指している方、IJETに関心がある方など、多くの方々にお集まりいただき、充実したネットワーキングの機会としてご活用いただければと思っております。プレイベントの後は交流会を企画しております。イベントのみ、交流会のみのご参加も可能です。お誘い合わせのうえ、ぜひご参加ください。The Japan Association of Translators’ (JAT) annual conference on translation and interpreting, IJET (International Japanese-English Translation Conference), will take place in Tokyo for the first time ever on June 21-22, 2014.JAT was founded in May 1985 as a means for individual translators and interpreters to exchange information and insights and this year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of IJET. As it has been more than 10 years since an IJET has taken place in the Kanto region and we are expecting many first-time participants, the Organizing Committee will host an event in collaboration with JAT’s Tokyo Activities Committee (TAC) in Tokyo on Saturday, March 15th, 2014, as the fourth and final part of a series of pre-events in the run up to the conference, which aim to help people understand more about IJET.The Tokyo Pre-event will provide an opportunity for participants to network and find out more about JAT and IJET, and is divided into four parts: An ice-breaking game, a talk on Japanese writing by Gendai Kawatsuki, a mini-biblio battle, and an introduction to IJET-25.JAT members and non-members, veteran translators/interpreters, those just starting out, and those with an interest in finding out more about IJET-25 are all welcome!The event is followed by a networking dinner.Participation in just the seminar or just the dinner is also welcome.
