During this 90-minute session, participants can, while blindfolded, handle 3D-printed objects based on ones in the museum’s collection. They will then get to experience the museum in a new way, from the perspective of their visually impaired facilitators, as they tour ACM’s Maritime Trade and Court & Company galleries.This programme is generously supported by Keppel.   Please note that vaccination-differentiated safe management measures (VDS) have been implemented for entry to museums. Individuals can be allowed entry in group sizes up to 2 persons if all are vaccinated.Children aged 12 years and below, recovered individuals, and unvaccinated individuals with a negative Pre-Event Test (PET) result, can be included in the groups of 2. If there is more than one child aged 12 years and below in the group of 2 persons, both children must be from the same household.You will be required to present your TraceTogether app or token, or any of the following documents (that may be relevant) for entry:i. Pre-Event Testing (PET) exemption noticeAbout Dialogue in the Dark Singapore (DiDsg) Dialogue in the Dark Singapore (DiDsg), established in 2009, is an exclusive collaboration between Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Dialogue Social Enterprise (DSE). Founded in Germany, DSE is a worldwide enterprise that aims to promote social inclusion of the disabled and disadvantaged.DiDsg is the first of its kind in the world to be located within an educational institution. It employs individuals with vision impairment as guides, workshop trainers and motivational speakers. DiDsg runs unique, experiential programmes targeted mainly at schools, workplaces and other organisations. Its programmes enable participants to experience everyday life in the shoes of the blind, thereby fostering empathy and facilitating inclusion. Frequently Asked Questions 1. How many people are allowed per tour? 4 pax per tour, subject to change pending the latest Government Advisories.2. What is the suitable age to participate in this programme?Ages 15 and above would probably enjoy the tour. Due to the content of the tour and its discursive nature, it is not recommended for younger children.3. Where is the meeting point and what time should I be there?Meeting point is at the ACM River Room on Level 2. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the tour to check in and collect your admission sticker. Tours will begin promptly at 2pm.4. What kind of COVID-19 precautions are in place for this activity?The session will be open to a limited number of participants. All participants will be required to sanitise their hands, fill in a Contact Tracing form, wear a mask at all times, and avoid mingling beyond their group. Each 3D-printed object is sprayed with anti-microbial coating. Disposable gloves will also be provided.5. What materials will be provided in this tour? All materials needed for the tour will be provided, including a new blindfold and stationery. To ensure cleanliness and safety, there will be no sharing of materials between individuals.6. What does the ticket fee cover? The fee covers the 1.5-hour tour and your admission into ACM permanent galleries (free for Singaporeans and PRs, standard admission fees apply for other visitors).7. How long is the tour?About 1.5 hours.8. Why is there a refundable deposit of $10?As spaces are highly limited, the deposit ensures that the guide’s time is maximised and that all registered participants will attend.
