Rojak Workshop for Parent & Child

Celebrate Singapore's birthday with one of its most iconic dishes, rojak! Participants will learn how to make, eat, and appreciate this simple dish in this exclusive workshop for families and children.

This workshop is conducted by Project Dignity, Singapore's first social enterprise food court that works with the disadvantaged and disabled to offer quality food and service to the public.

Suitable for children age 6 and above. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Strictly no exceptions will be made. Registered participants should arrive in the ACM lobby 10 minutes before the start of the session. Limited spaces are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any experience to join this workshop? Is this workshop suitable for my child?
No experience necessary! This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners. Just bring a hungry stomach.

I have several children. Can my older child accompany a younger sibling as guardian at the workshop?
For the safety of the participants, every child must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. ACM reserves the right to reject participants not within the age range (deposit will be refunded within 24 hours).

Why is there a refundable deposit?
As workshop spaces are highly limited, the deposit will be held as a form of commitment from the registrant. The deposit will be refunded 24 hours after this workshop through Peatix, in the same manner as your payment (e.g. credit card or Paypal).

Do I need to bring anything?
All equipment and ingredients will be provided. Just bring yourself, your child, healthy curiosity, and an appetite!

What can I do before/ after the workshop?
The workshop is part of Saturdays@ACM and Civic District Outdoor Festival. We have glee style show choir performances, a glow-in-the-dark art installation, and escape museum games happening that day.

Can I learn more about Project Dignity?
Project Dignity believes in building and returning dignity to the disadvantaged and disabled through vocation with passion. They have won several accolades, including best street social enterprise food association at the 2013 World Street Food Congress. Who is the instructor for that day?
Meet Uncle Tiong! He is armed with 10 years of experience in local hotels and restaurants as a pastry chef. He also operated a Rojak stall at the Tampines Round Market which received a considerable regular following. He now works in the Bakery Stall at Project Dignity, due to a stroke that paralysed half of his body.
