Female Technopreneur: One Woman’s Journey and Why We Need More

Tech is still largely a man’s world and entrepreneurship even more so. But more and more women today are starting to play a part in the innovation economy and women who swim against the tide to become technopreneurs are changing the world by inspiring others to do the same.

Rekha Pai is a Silicon Valley venture capitalist and an active angel/seed stage investor who has funded for profit and non-profit tech start-ups. She will share her personal journey from engineering into entrepreneurship. Ms Pai will make a case for why young girls should consider STEM careers.

Rekha also serves as a board member of Fast Forward, an accelerator for tech non-profits. She frequently mentors entrepreneurs to coach them on everything from thinking about product-market fit, to identifying the differentiation and value proposition, to making decisions regarding corporate structures, and fundraising terms. She’s also passionate about her involvement with Technovation Challenge, an annual competition in the U.S. that invites teams of 10-18 year-old girls from around the world to identify problems in their communities and build mobile apps to address those problems, with the support of mentors.

Join Us for with her personal journey from engineering into entrepreneurship and get to know how to start yours!
