This is where designers and businesses congregate to exchange ideas, conduct business, use its facilities and obtain assistance from the national agency for design, the DesignSingapore Council. Centrally located in the arts, cultural, learning and entertainment district in the Bras Basah-Bugis area, it is well placed to invite the public to learn about design through its exhibitions and programmes.-About Shophouse & Co's part in curating Monthly Community Engagement Programmes at NDCThese programmes are essentially a piece of the puzzle in creating a sense of place in this building - one where Design and Community intersects. With this as a larger objective, Shophouse & Co was appointed to curate and produce once-a-month programmes over an 18-month period to engage the wider community and introduce them to the fascinating world of design.-Nanyang Polytechnic - Spatial Investigation DepartmentThe Spatial Investigation Department is a collective consisting of staff, graduates and students winged under the Diploma of Spatial Design and Diploma of Sustainable Architectural Design Course. We seek to engage the society by negotiating the boundary with other disciplines in the periphery of architecture. In the Diploma of Spatial Design and Sustainable Architectural Design, we aim to develop students who are independent and curious in seeking knowledge towards creativity where confidence is instilled not only in articulating their percept and concept but also in the skill of making. Students will acquire all rounded design expertise in place-making, designing experiences and strategies for different spatial applications.
