With the concept “Savor Japanese Culture Live” from various cut edges such as PLAY/TASTE/LISTEN/WEAR, BREW is a cultural experience event where creators and performers experiment new forms of expressions of Japanese culture by mixing traditions and contemporary means.
The concept for BREW Vol.2 is “Under the Water”.
We extracted 3 keywords “Water” “Blue” and “Japanese” based on some key elements of the location such as Sumida River, which is the most unique and attractive part of the location of LYURO, Tokyo Bay where Sumida River finally reaches, and the town itself around the hotel where some hints of old Edo town still remains, and the site will be staged as lively underwater world we usually don’t see.
In the gallery on the 1st floor, there will be an exhibition of art panels made with Japanese Paper by WACCA, “enlightenment”, and another exhibition by Yusei Nagashima, a talented and unique fish painter/illustrator, will be in a guest room upstairs.
The main floor of LYURO is a beautiful riverview terrace.
Please enjoy live sessions of Japanese instruments, jazz music and various DJ plays in the nice and fresh breeze from Sumida River throughout the day.
And what comes to BREW is good food and drinks from all over Japan!
Starting with summer-seasonal one, we will have a selection of more than 30 brands of Japanese Sake. Some of the sake breweries will actually be there.
Other drinks will be cold-brewed coffee, sparkling Japanese tea, fresh green smoothie, and so on.
Plus, BBQ restaurant “PITMANS” and local craft beer brewery in Tokyo “Kiyosubashi Craft Beer” will prepare special menu only for BREW!
Other than above, there will be shops by artists and performers, a soy sauce maker founded 150 years ago, a popular Japanese restaurant all the way from Fukuoka, and more!
